We have identified seven success factors for mountain bike destinations. Based on these factors, we develop destinations and regions. These seven aspects establish the framework for the location assessment, SWOT analyses and development proposals or strategies.
In order for a region to show bike-specific success, it first needs attractive, target group-oriented and sustainable trails. But it also needs a functioning local community, so that whoever is biking there feels comfortable: whether local or tourist. And because the main appeal of mountain biking is the outdoors, the experience must also be good. These three aspects are often cost drivers. But if high-quality facilities are created here, the added value will follow in gastronomy, culture, transport companies, accommodation providers and all other services such as shops, rentals, guiding, etc.
We almost always see a positive feedback effect: a high-quality infrastructure leads to new entrepreneurship and value creation, which strengthens the community and in turn leads to more investment in the trails and nature.
If needed, we support the development of these services with the help of international experts.
