For almost 10 years we have been doing bike-specific regional development. In the process, we have already accompanied over 100 projects. These projects cover numerous areas such as master plans, preparation of guidelines and technical reports, feasibility studies, trail building schools, development of business models and much more.
We are active in Switzerland and abroad. For example, we have accompanied projects in Scotland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Croatia. We support municipalities and cantons, tourist service providers (mountain railroads, DMO, etc), but also other planning and trail building companies.
The MTB descent from Furka Pass to Oberwald is a diverse route with great flow and breathtaking panoramic views, stretching from the Rhône Glacier to Grimsel Pass and further into the Goms Valley. The descent is part of the so-called “St. Gotthard Bike Labyrinth.”

On behalf of the Thun development area, a bike-specific concept including a master plan with recommendations for action was developed by autumn 2019 on the basis of a holistic analysis.

The work aid ‘Mountain biking in the forest’ contains all the relevant aspects that need to be considered for the legalisation of mountain bike trails.
Together with local experts, we have remotely developed master plans for four regions in the Scottish Highlands during a pandemic.

Development of technical resources for a European trail building training programme within the framework of Erasmus+.
The project analysed the situation of mountain bike tourism in the canton and the potential of the guest and the region to become a mountain bike destination.
On behalf of the Regionalkonferenz Oberland-Ost, Jungfrau Region Tourismus, and Interlaken Tourismus, Bikeplan developed a bike-specific concept, including a master plan with recommendations for action, based on a comprehensive analysis, which was completed by summer 2023.
