Project description

Starting point

The descent from Schwarzsee to Stafelalp was popular with mountain bikers but passed through a highly sensitive black grouse habitat. Bans had not worked.

Our contribution

Bikeplan focused on awareness rather than bans, addressing mountain bikers in their own language. The campaign also targeted scooter riders and hikers. An information sign let the black grouse speak for itself: “We like it slow, Dude – Thanks Bro!”

Results and impact

  • Awareness campaign for mountain bikers, scooter riders, and hikers
  • Information sign with a clear, humorous message
  • The trail is now rarely ridden; visitor guidance works without bans
