Masterplan Scottish Highlands
We have developed master plans for four regions in the Scottish Highlands: Cairngorms, Lochaber, Torridon + Sky and Sutherland.
The project started in February 2020 with a site visit and initial discussions, after which we were unable to visit Scotland. For this reason, we empowered the local project manager of DMBinS (Ruari) to carry out all activities that can only be carried out on site himself. We also integrated the whole community in order to systematically collect as many data points as possible from the terrain – another task normally carried out by Bikeplan experts.
Based on the insights gained by Ruari and the locals, we held additional expert discussions with tourism service providers and key decision-makers and developed development scenarios for the four regions, including route concepts, trail designs (in collaboration with a local trail designer), SWOT analyses, etc.
